$25,000 Gift of Inspiration Supports Kentucky Emergency Room Expansion and Renovation
National is pleased to announce that Saints Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, part of KentuckyOne
Health, in Louisville, Kentucky, is the winner of our fourth Annual $25,000 Gift of
Inspiration for Healthcare. Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is the eighth recipient of
National's Gift of Inspiration with a total of $185,000 donated to healthcare and
education organizations since the program's inception in 2009. The $25,000 gift will help
fund the expansion and renovation of the emergency department at the hospital, a critical
safety net that makes a life and death difference every day for the people of south
Louisville. The hospital's emergency team saw more than 48,000 patients last year—even
though it was originally designed to see about 12,000.
"We are honored to be this year's recipient of the Gift of Inspiration Award," said Jennifer
Nolan, president, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. "This funding to aid the expansion and
renovation of our emergency department will bring dramatic improvements in the comfort and
satisfaction of the patients, families and caregivers that we treat."
