$25,000 Gift of Inspiration for Healthcare Environments Winner for 2011
Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center of Corvallis, Oregon was the lucky winner of the
$25,000 Gift of Inspiration for Healthcare contest sponsored by National Office Furniture™.
The organization will use the gift to support the Samaritan Hematology & Oncology
Consultants, an outpatient clinic of Samaritan Health Services.
The center's outreach services run solely on donations in providing care and counseling to
cancer patients around the Corvallis area who are often required to travel a distance for
treatment. The rural service radius and challenging economy make it difficult for patients
during treatments to continue work, provide for their families and keep some sense of normalcy
in a very physically and mentally demanding situation. The outreach service can help ease the
financial burden for patients.
"The gift will provide inspiration, access to treatment and comfort to oncology patients
and families during very difficult times. Words cannot express the difference this will make
in many people's lives," stated Melanie Brown, Operations Manager at Samaritan Hematology &
Oncology Consultants.
This is our fourth Gift of Inspiration totaling $85,000 in donations to education and healthcare
organizations.
