From the Challenges to the Results...
The Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center at Chicago State University (CSU) is a multi-purpose, 140,000 sq. ft. facility seating up to 7,000 people and primarily used for intercollegiate athletics and other entertainment events. The facility required furnishings that could withstand the rigors of college athletics and still evoke a professional appeal to guests and alumni.
With the scope including a range of environments including the athletic department, locker rooms and a 100 person capacity skybox, this state of the art venue called for an atmosphere and furniture with ultimate versatility.
Needing to fill a variety of spaces, Athletic Director Sudie D. Davis looked toward a single source for furniture accommodations. CSU opted for some of National’s most prominent products utilized in higher education. Over 30 athletic department offices and a conference room received WaveWorks desks with Mix-it and Respect seating, while 100 Reno lounge chairs with tablet arms outfitted the locker rooms with comfort and style.
The skybox features 40 mobile Reno lounge chairs with tablet arms, Gotcha stools and Universal café height tables that welcome guests and alumni to enjoy the game and each other’s company.
The Jones Convocation Center has been the location for many memorable events for students, faculty and guests from around the world. The furniture selections are the ultimate blend of versatility, durability and style that make the center a great place to spend time whether for work, play or entertainment.

The facility features National’s WaveWorks Laminate and Veneer desks, Mix-it seating, Respect seating, Universal Conference Tables, Reno lounge seating, Gotcha seating, and Universal Café Height Tables.
