From the Challenges to the Results...
With a growing community and older public buildings, the City of Temecula
was in need of a public space that would make a difference in the community.
The project challenges were many; from accommodating existing city workers
and officials, to envisioning the space needed to serve Temecula for many
years to come. However, the biggest challenge would be to build and furnish
a new City Hall that citizens would embrace.
Focused on the balance of traditional with modern touches, the design team
landed on a mission style building located in the heart of Old Town to be
the focal point the city deserves. Committed to earning LEED® certification,
the design provides an excellent flow of productivity
incorporating a complementary footprint of private space for heads-down work
along with collaborative and public areas for sharing ideas and conversations.
With a city of 105,000 people to serve and 130 city employees and officials
to accommodate, the city was looking to refine its newest building with smart
choices that were affordable, yet provided a classy aesthetic. It was important
that quality furnishings mirrored this sentiment. Private offices with
touchdown areas including tables and conversation seating, conference rooms,
reception areas, libraries and the Council Chambers were furnished with a
variety of National solutions. The exceptional value and styling of

seating gained quick approval by city officials and visitors. What's more,
National's SCS Indoor Advantage™ and ANSI/BIFMA level® certified products
contribute to the pursuit of a healthy, sustainable environment.
The new City Hall has exceeded all expectations and truly provided Temecula
with a piece of architecture they can be proud of. The results are apparent by
the pride and contentment seen from the employees, citizens and visitors
as they work, socialize and enjoy their new City Hall. "Teamwork prevailed
again. The outcome is incredible. The new City Hall is a huge success for
Temecula's future," says Greg Butler, Director of Public Works/City Engineer.
