Kimball International’s Alternative Design Podcast has had great success by offering monthly episodes dedicated to empowering and engaging designers, architects, creatives, and design enthusiasts. Now into its second season, the Alternative Design Podcast has also created a limited-edition soundtrack music album. As a companion to the Alternative Design podcast, each song was inspired by an episode of the first season and was composed by podcast producer, Andrew Reid. The soundtrack features a variety of musical voices and styles that are meant to directly correspond with each specific podcast episode.
Through research, Kimball International learned that 42% of employees listen to podcasts while working and 75% of employees listen to music. Both options provide inspiration, so Kimball International made a music album that sparks creativity and harkens back to their humble beginnings as a piano manufacturer. Before Kimball International filled spaces with furniture, they filled spaces with music. Staying true to their roots while also embracing current trends, Kimball International builds on its historic reputation of making “music for the millions” and developed this unique soundtrack to accompany its podcast.
The digital album is available through music streaming sites Apple Music and Spotify. A special pressing of
limited-edition records will be released to the design community at select Kimball International events.
