National Receives 2018 Governor’s Workplace Safety Award for Early Intervention Program

National has been recognized by the Indiana Department of Labor for their exemplary efforts to protect workers from occupational safety and health hazards. National received the 2018 Governor’s Workplace Safety Award in the Innovations for General Industry, large-sized company category for their Early Intervention Program. This program encourages employees to report early any discomforts associated with their jobs and avoid repetitive motion injuries. These reports are reviewed by an outside resource, typically a physical or occupational therapist, who then makes ergonomic or process improvements and recommends specific stretches to reduce or eliminate the cause of discomfort.

“We are honored to recognize some of the most dedicated workplace safety and health leaders in the state of Indiana,” said Rick J. Ruble, Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner. “These companies and ‘safety heroes’ play a significant part in the greater cause of occupational safety and health for all working Hoosiers. We are so thankful for their commitment to protecting workers.”
