Our commitment to sustainability is an integral part of every decision at National Office Furniture. This is not only true about the products we bring to market, but in how we manufacture, distribute and showcase them. Sustainability can be found throughout National's geographical footprint. Our product development suites and the majority of our regional showrooms/resource centers are certified to the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System. All of our production facilities are ISO 14001 registered which is the environmental standard for manufacturing operations. In addition, our corporate recycling facility diverts over 5 million pounds of waste from landfills each year. Our holistic approach to sustainability ensures our people, processes and products are always environmentally conscious in all that we do at National.
National Office Furniture partnered with design firm Gensler to include sustainable elements in its headquarters, including energy efficient lighting and a reflective roof to reduce cooling costs. Daylighting provides employees a connection to nature, while reducing energy use. Low-emitting paints, flooring and furniture enhance indoor air quality while water efficiency is protected through low flow water fixtures and landscaping native to the area. The facility was recognized with a Green GOOD DESIGN™ award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. LEED® certification is pending for this state-of-the-art facility, which has boosted productivity and morale for employees and guests alike.
